Cefalù Film Festival to host ‘The Doll’

Iran’s ‘The Doll’ is to vie at the Cefalù Film Festival in Italy.

Iranian short flick ‘The Doll’ has been selected to vie at the 2021 edition of the Cefalù Film Festival in Italy.

Directed and written by Nasrin Gol-Reyhan, the short film tells the story of a rescue in the war-torn Syrian city of Aleppo.

In the flick, produced by Hossein Shahabi, a female reporter finds a little girl in the war-torn city and tries to save her life.

Rezvan Beheshtian, Sahar Abdollahi, Mohammad-Javad Asadi, and Nabiollah Minaee are the main cast members of the flick.

According to the event’s website, the Cefalù Film Festival Pino Scicolone is a meeting point for the presentation and promotion of films and videos of every nationality, genre and duration that address the themes of friendship, the city, peace and the future. The third edition will take place on a free theme. Films and short films of up to fifteen minutes can compete. 

The Cefalu festival awards the best film, selected from among 100 short movies, one thousand Euros. There are also other competition sections for the special jury prize, the best director award, the best actress and best actor awards, best foreign short film, and the best animated short film, as well as the best script and best music.

The 2021 edition of the event is slated to open on February 1.
